Results <=> Intentions: A lifelong passion and commitment to having technology deliver on our deepest intentions.


Broadly stated, technology is how we get things done – applying proven principles to create measurable results. The question is: how well will those results line up with our intentions; how well will those creations forward our most important goals? Will our means really serve our ends? This is one of the biggest challenges in IT today – and not just IT, in all applications of technology.


Learning how to apply numerous technologies has been an important part of my career. But the critical skill that I bring to any project is the commitment and ability to ferret out the deepest intentions of the sponsors, and make sure that the results deliver on those intentions. More than anything, it depends on my ability to listen actively – and to listen to others’ problems … with heart. The rest is just my bag of tricks. And I can do magic with them!


Currently, I am engaged in developing software for computer-assisted negotiation and dispute resolution. Our intention is peace – in business, in families, in the world.


I am also the founder & co-organizer of the South Delta "Free at 55" Meetup.

    Soliciting leads for face-to-face meetings…

    I have over thirty years of hands-on experience in high-powered computing – from operating systems to online banking to co-founding an Internet start-up. I’m also a student of face-to-face mediation and facilitation at the Justice Institute. Recently, I’ve had a research focus, helping to develop a system for computer-assisted negotiation. One of our current pilot projects at our Smartsettle Family Resolution Centre is using our software to help separating couples craft win-win separation agreements. I love using sophisticated technology and problem solving to deliver what really matters to people.

    I also love cultural travel – I’ve learned three foreign languages, and my wife and I spent four years in Australia, & six months slow-touring Costa Rica. I’m now at a transition point: looking to build a new career and lifestyle that will allow us more opportunity to travel – something sustainable beyond “retirement”. I’ve started a Meetup called “South Delta Free at 55” to help connect others who are looking to do the same.

    My ASK: I want to talk to people who can help me broaden my options for a new career combining problem solving, high-tech experience, and an understanding of human needs & psychology. Example mission areas would be peace through facilitation & agreement building, or creative thinking & non-traditional education. I’m looking for leads, opportunities, dynamic fun-loving organizations, and “off the wall” suggestions to consider. Bonus points if they include travel or international connections.
