During my first career, I was involved in public education. I worked in various classrooms in three provinces over many grade levels as an educator. My other leadership roles involved providing professional development possibilities for the districts, leading and participating in school wide evaluations, making a video on the various ways students learn, and, curriculum development, dissemination and evaluation. Post-retirement, I explored non-profit arts management with the Vancouver Society of Storytelling: grant writing, publication of a newsletter, developing connections with other arts groups, and board roles were some bits. As well, I researched living well in the second half of life and developed a series of workshops and conversations supported with a journal. Currently, they are being offered to women contemplating identity issues in the face of change. This second career enhances my goal of lifelong learning and a love affair with words and ideas.
