My experience with public speaking began early in life which created confidence and in turn, resulted in numerous successful voice related employment opportunities.
CAREER SUMMARY
My early life experience at CHUB Radio in Nanaimo left a firm impression on the great value of communication. The positive and lasting impression of the importance of communication and many early life opportunities along with unsolicited, positive voice comments, led to applying to the Radio Program of BCIT in Burnaby BC. My first professional voice position was with Giant FM, Penticton, BC. There I discovered the joy of sharing my voice and talent. I developed my craft through Cathy Weseluck's Animation and Commercial Voice-Over Workshop in 2004. My voice capability increased via her one to one consultations. Cathy's consultations were well worth the expense and effort in order to achieve this diversity of voice experience. Cathy Weseluck's experience and guidance were superb in achieving my goal. Since 2008 I have completed 33 projects including: Public Address Announcing at various Sport venues, Website voicing, Animation, E-Learning seminar, Adult Chatline greeting, Customer survey, Radio show and local entertainer introductions, Animation, YouTube Promotional Videos, Radio Tagline Ad, and Business and on hold messages.

Aside from 3 short-lived “real” jobs, I’ve been in business for myself ever since I cornered the babysitting market on Elmhurst Street when I was 12.
My businesses have ranged from video store to real estate to freelance computer programming to instructional design and training to “flipping” mobile homes. (As in buying, fixing and re-selling…not over-turning.)
In 2008, I sold everything I owned and took a 2 year mini-retirement. I bought a sailboat with my partner and traveled 1,000 miles down the Mexican Baja (after only 3 days of sailing lessons.) No one died! -

I am an artist and art consultant bringing fresh art to public and private spaces including hospitals, seniors residences, condo buildings, municipalities and homes, gardens and offices. My work explores our connection to place, culture, memory and the natural world. My most recent public art project for the Hamilton Community Centre in Richmond BC is a work of contemporary art that specifically relates to the history of Hamilton and is made from Corian panels backlit with LED lights. I have just installed 70 pieces of art in the new Clayton Heights complex care residence. I sourced all the art including several historical photographs from the Surrey Archives.
