She started the discussion by reading an excerpt from the book Appreciation Marketing by Tommy Wyatt, Curtis Lewesy. A woman had referred many clients to her neighbour a car salesman, and despite all the sales he made to her referrals he had not acknowledged the referrals, the moral being that the woman now needed to purchase a new car and was not going to use her neighbour. Illustrating why it's important for us to acknowledge and thank.

T.O.M.A.T.O - stands for Top of mind always through others

Rank your customers by value and reward them as such

48% never f/u with prospect but 80% of sales are closed on the 5th contact

Give just for the fact of giving

If you are in sales, ask who referred you - that way you can acknowledge them with a thank you for referring you, and you also know where your business is coming from

Relationship Investment - thanks Kenton for sharing this term - what's your investment in your relationships

Think story telling when connecting with people & Put heart into the conversation, the world of business is switching from left brain to right brain

Not saying thank you can do more damage than saying thank you can do good.

    * Eliminate "the stigma of sales"

    * a “good sales process” uses your own words/style/language. Have genuine conversations and make deeper connections

    * What the customers thinks matters
    do it with integrity
they are buying outcomes, what you deliver (not products or services)
    dig one level deeper

    * Always ask why
Buyers have answers - Sellers have questions – help your client/customer to get clarity to what they want, it’s in their head already, just help them access it

*Have humility and understand their circumstance. Start your meeting with questions, not a pitch

*When they say “yes, you got it, when can we get started” you don’t need to close the sale

March is our sales and marketing month, join us next week when we discuss "closing" the deal - which really should be "opening" the door to our ongoing relationship with our client(s).

see more Last week our group had a discussion on Sales Leads our guest speaker was Rishel Tomlinson from Custom Mortgages. Here was her top 5 for attracting business

    1. Have a passion for being the best at your profession
    2. Have a Genuine interest in the people you meet - They are your sales force!
    3. When working with you clients don't you use Lingo and Jargon it confuses your potential clients & listen to their needs
    4. Be an expert - they are coming to you to learn something
    5. Had fun with yourself and your business - It can lead to business

Rishel had recently participated in an iron man event and met people through that event that eventually became clients.

    Other thoughts that got discussed:
    Utilise affiliate marketing
Ask your clients for referrals if they we happy with your service
Call back leads until they say "stop calling" - you not bugging them everyone is busy!
    Do business within your networks
Offer a free gift as way to curry trust and build upon the relationship
and finally let the toxic leads go, by cleansing yourself of those bad leads you will have more time and energy for potential new leads.

Next Week Howard Olsen will be doing a presentation for 15 minutes on the sales process you wont want to miss this RSVP today!
