What are your thoughts on the HST?
Is it the “Helpful Sales Tax” or the “Hated Sales Tax”?
I’ll admit, when the province first introduced the HST to BC, I was strongly opposed. However, now that I know more about it, I’m not so sure. With the deadline for the HST referendum fast approaching on July 22nd, both sides of the HST movement ('for' and 'against') are campaigning to get your vote.
However, the websites and marketing materials being put out by the province are as confusing as ever (an intentional ploy that may backfire on Christy Clark and the Liberals), thus I’d like to hold an open discussion on the HST at the end of the month.
If you are an entrepreneur or small buisness owner, please join the Vancouver, Business, Marketing and Entrepreneur Meetup on Tuesday, June 28th at the YWCA Hotel (677 Beatty) as we discuss the both the pros and cons of the HST and both the short and long term implications of keeping this tax or reverting to the old system.
There will be several expert panellists from a variety of business sectors, from financial advisors, mortgage brokers, and accounts there to answer your questions and engage in a discussion with the room about what the HST means to you.
Don’t send in your ballot until you’ve attended this event, your vote will greatly affect the future of this province. Come listen to what everyone has to say first…and then decide.
