I opened my LI profile up this morning to find that I have over 1800 connections now and 19 people have viewed my profile in the past day, and I have showed up in 10 search results in the past day! This coming Thursday, February 23rd, we will be rolling out a new way for us all purchase our breakfast. Here it goes:
As before we will have the two normal breakfast options, the $7.50 or the $9.50 deal, plus tax. The $7.50 keeps to be the minimum purchase in support of our venue hosts. The only thing that changes is that there will be two places for us to pay for our breakfast depending on what we'd like to have:
For the $7.50 option, with regular coffee or your choice of teas:
If you want the $7.50 deal ($8.50 incl. HST) with a regular coffee or your choice of tea, please go directly upstairs where Bonnie, our first volunteer cashier, will take your cash and will hand you a cup for your beverage. Coffee, a selection of teas and breakfast items will be set up in the meeting area. Receipts will also be available for you when you check in with Bonnie. Once you’ve paid for your breakfast you may go in and grab your seat and breakfast.
For everything else, e.g. the $7.50 breakfast with specialty coffees/teas, the $9.50 deal, or if you wish to pay with your credit card:
Please go directly to the counter downstairs where you will be ordering and receiving your breakfast. Once you have your breakfast in your hands, please come upstairs to our meeting area and join the crowd.
With this new process we hope for a smoother and faster process of purchasing breakfast and for the meeting to start in a timely fashion, which translates in to more time for networking afterwards!!!
Doors to the Buzz open at 7:00am, the meeting will start at 7:15am.
Please note: It will no longer be possible for attendees to first go upstairs, grab a seat and then go back down to purchase breakfast. Buying breakfast will be the first thing we all do, and then we will be granted access to the meeting space.
I'm sure this new process will work out great once we're all used to it. Please bare with us as we iron out any potential small glitches that might pop up - and pleeeease do remember to educate your guests how HOBN Yaletown works. Thank you!
Thanks so much to Marilyn and Bonnie, our first two volunteers as greeter and cashier. Are you interested in helping us out as a volunteer once in a while? Let Neil or myself know and we'll gladly sign you up. It's a great way for you to stand out of the crowd and distinguish yourself as a leader in our HOBN community.
As always, we look forward to yet another energizing and mutually successful HOBN Yaletown meeting! Oh, if you haven't signed up yet, here's the link for you: http://hobnonline.com/meetings/yaletown_2012-02-23

It’s fun, easy, and catching on like wildfire right now.
Part of Pinterest’s appeal is that it’s beautiful. Enter the lovely world of Pinterest, and all the troubles of your day-to-day life just seem to slip away in a stream of perfect little black dresses, baby otters, and cherubic children who never seem to get dirty or mouth off to their parents.
Because it’s image-based, the core of Pinterest is overwhelmingly positive. I like to think of Pinterest as Facebook without the whining.23 hours ago- Margaret Reynolds and Monika Becker like this.

Is this innovative or just creepy? With the increase in Linkedin spammers lately do you really want to be bombarded with messages from your new best friends? How would you approach using a service like this? Standing in the line for the loo chatting with someone you just met on Linkedin?3 days ago- Marilyn Anderson and Neil Hamilton like this.
