THOUGHT4FOOD, on Tuesday, May 21 from 6-9pm, and WE HAVE SOME EXTRA, ALREADY-PAID-FOR TICKETS FOR YOU!

THOUGHT4FOOD is for sustainable foodies (and anyone who loves to be inspired!), featuring founders of a range of Vancouver's best natural/organic food businesses, each
telling the inspiring story of their startup and growth, with 20 companies exhibiting and giving out generous food samples, and plenty of time for networking.

Some of the sponsors who were given large blocks of tickets as part of their sponsorship are not
going to be using their full allocation - the tickets are paid for; we just want to see them used.

Go to www.brownpapertickets.com/event/359083, enter promo code sponsorsurplus (lower case,
all one word) in the bottom right BEFORE entering a number of tickets and press the link to check
for availability and the price will zero out.

All we ask is that if you reserve a ticket, you USE a ticket. :)

More details on the event are below.

    Tuesday May 21
    6-9pm
Dodson Conference Centre (25 East Hasting St - Downtown)
    THOUGHT4FOOD:
Secret Sauce Ingredients - From Recipe to Checkout Stand
Parking at the Easypark on Cordova, less than a block away

Speakers include: Ian Walker (Left Coast Naturals), Gordon Truscott (Indigo Natural Products Management), Jennifer Martin (Sip Soda), Peggy Speir (Frostbites), Saul Brown (Saul Good Gift Co).

Sponsored by Vancity, Choices Markets, Indigo Natural Products Management and Social Venture Institutes by Hollyhock, THOUGHT4FOOD is serving up an impressive mix of local food-related businesses and culinary creatives with a wide range of expertise that covers nearly every aspect of the food chain -- from growing to preparing food, manufacturing and distributing, retailing and even turning it back into soil. This is another zero-waste event with all leftovers going to feed downtown East-siders.

Not only will you hear great stories and nuggets of wisdom from a wide range of food-related entrepreneurs, you'll also enjoy some tasty snacks and appies, soda & beer AND desserts!

Check out our last event here - sold out, awesome feedback:

    See you soon!

PS: It's impossible to genuinely give THOUGHT for food without thinking of those who struggle to get enough to eat, which is whywe made the decision to use the conference centre we did. Dodson House
is on the same block in the DTES as the United We Can outlet where Vancouver's binners cash in their recyclables. Monies earned by renting the space for events make it possible for Dodson to provide
low income housing units and meal support to some of the city's most vulnerable populations.

Outside Dodson House, we can all take a brief moment to reflect on how lucky we are to not have to struggle to merely survive as some do. Once inside the Dodson Centre, the refinished floors, exposed brick, post & beam and sleek stage take over, and you'll find yourself in a self-contained professional setting where you will be comfortable and be able to have a very good time.

We had ZERO problems with the venue or its surrounding populations last time, but know that it can feel a bit like running a gauntlet to get in. Please feel free to phone either Charlie (604-813-2557) or myself (604-319-9952) if you'd like someone to meet you a block over and walk in or out with you.
    No problem, no judgment.

She is an extraordinary trainer and a trusted authority on the topic of what she calls Your Sacred Gifts. Her teachings are focused on helping people find deeper meaning and a greater sense of purpose in their lives whether at work, in their business or at home . Most people are surprised at how hilarious and down to earth she is given her highly intuitive and deeply spiritual nature....

I've listened to Monique speak last year and to the day am still using some things I learned from her that night. Very insightful and inspiring!

At HOBN Yaletown we are known for friendly, lively meetings with interesting conversations that are relevant to business owners like most of us.

This week's featured presenter is Lorne Havisto from The Letter Shop http://www.lettershop.ca/, one of Vancouver’s oldest and most established commercial printing companies. I'm looking forward to learning more about Lorne, The Letter Shop and the printing industry.

For your own 1-minutes round-table introduction make sure you bring a clear, specific "Ask". We are here to help each other. So let's be specific about what it is that we are seeking.

Please RSVP on the HOBN website at http://hobnonline.com/meetings/yaletown-1_2013-05-16

    see more Hi Everyone,

We're looking forward to seeing both our Yaletown#1 regulars and guests tomorrow (Thurs.). Please bring both your mental and physical Rolodexes as we love to refer leads and assistance to our group. Tomorrow our featured speaker will be Katherine Taylor, our physical fitness and nutrition guru, and I quote her - "Based on Neil's request I would like to talk about "Simple, Fast, and Effective" workouts to do at home, or on the go! I will educate the group on time-efficient exercises and what specific ones we need to do for our health and well being. We are all busy entrepreneurs, but without our health we will miss out on success in life, therefore I will share some tips and tricks on how to make exercise, healthy lifestyles, and optimal health, easy and fun."

Make sure you join us! Buzz Cafe, 901 Homer St., @ 7:00 AM; $7.50 cover and free parking on Homer 'til 9:00.

    See you then!

    Your co-hosts,
